The broader trend is towards a “cash-lite” or cashless economy, where tap-to-pay cards and mobile wallets dominate in-store and online transactions. Government campaigns and bank initiatives are reinforcing this shift by making cashless options easier and sometimes making cash handling less convenient.
Why e-wallets are better
From a fraud and security perspective, e-wallets use technologies like tokenisation, encryption, and biometric authentication, which significantly reduce exposure to card data theft and payment fraud compared with handling cash or raw card numbers. For customers and staff, transactions are faster and more seamless, with tap-or-scan flows that shorten queues, while integrated rewards, cashback, and loyalty points make e-wallets feel more valuable than cash
How to disable Cash Payment in ClassicPOS?
To disable Cash as a payment option in ClassicPOS, update the payment configuration at outlet level, then refresh the POS so the new settings take effect.
Before you start
Disabling Cash is an outlet-level configuration, so it only impacts the selected outlet’s payment methods and not your global account settings. Ensure operations is aligned on the move to cashless to avoid confusion at the counter once Cash is removed from the payment screen.
via ClassicPOS
Steps to disable Cash in ClassicPOS

What changes at POS
After refresh, Cash will no longer appear as a selectable tender on the payment screen, and staff will be forced to use card, e-wallet, or other enabled methods. This enforces your cashless acceptance policy at the UI level and reduces the risk of staff accidentally accepting cash once the outlet has gone fully digital.
