11.0 Referral Program
The Referral Program module helps businesses grow their customer base organically by incentivising existing members to invite friends and family to join the Xilnex Loyalty App. Both the referrer (existing member) and the referee (new user) receive rewards — creating a win-win outcome that drives user growth and engagement.
How It Works
Each registered member is assigned a unique referral code. When a new user downloads the app and enters this code during registration, both parties are automatically rewarded. The entire process is automated; no manual action is required from the business after initial configuration.
Referral Flow
- Share Referral Code — The existing member (referrer) shares their unique referral code with friends or family via any channel (e.g., messaging apps, social media).
- New User Registers — The referee downloads the Xilnex Loyalty App and enters the referral code during the registration flow.
- Referee Receives Instant Reward — Upon completing registration, the new member immediately receives a welcome reward (voucher or points).
- Referrer Receives Reward (Configurable) — Once the referee successfully completes registration, the referrer automatically receives their configured reward.
Supported Reward Types
Businesses can configure either of the following reward types for both the referrer and referee:
| Reward Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Voucher Reward | A voucher is issued to the referrer and/or referee upon successful referral completion. |
| Point Reward | Points are added directly to the member's Spendable Points balance upon successful referral. |
Notes:
- Reward types and values for both the referrer and referee are configured independently by the business via the Xilnex Portal.
- The referral code must be entered during registration. It cannot be applied retroactively after an account has been created.
- Each referral code is unique per member. Members can share their code as many times as they like; each successful referral triggers a reward.
- Referral rewards are tracked under the member's profile and will appear in their rewards history once issued.
How to Setup Referral Programme?
- Log in to https://portal.xilnex.com/
- Navigate to Customer Engagement on the sidebar.
- Under Loyalty Application, select Referral Setup.
- Fill in the Referral Campaign Details:
- Upload a campaign image — this will display in the App or Lite accordingly.
- Fill in the campaign description.
- Configure the Referral Share Message:
- Meesage is shown when the user taps the "Share Now" button.
- Automatically populates the message text field or email content with the predefined share message.
- Applicable to Loyalty Lite and any mobile app that includes the "Share Code" feature.
- Select the Referral Rewards: Choose the reward(s) to be assigned based on which party successfully completes a referral (i.e., a new user registers using the referral code):
- Referrer — The party who shares the code.
- Referee — The party who receives the code and registers with it.
- Referrer and Referee — Both parties receive the reward upon one successful referral.
- Issue Rewards With:
- Points — Enter the number of points to be issued.
- Voucher — Select the voucher catalogue created prior to this setup.Important: If you intend to reward users with vouchers, the voucher catalogue must be created before creating the referral campaign.
- Save — Setup is complete.
