What is Menu Order Source Setting?

The
Order Source function allows businesses to define where a menu can be used or displayed, ensuring that the right menu is available on the right platform. Since menus may differ between in-store dining, online ordering, or third-party aggregators, this feature provides flexible control and consistency.

Local, XilenxOrderTerminal
- Order source used for Classic POS platform. Local for Cashier POS and XilnexOrderTerminal for additional order machines in the outlet.
- Menus assigned to Classic POS are displayed and used for in-store transactions at the outlet.
- Typically includes full menus such as dine-in, takeaway, or cashier-assisted sales.
- Example: An F&B outlet may enable a Dine-In Menu only for POS users inside the restaurant.
XilnexFnbGO
- Order source used for Android Xilnex Fnb GO product platform.
- Menus assigned to Xilnex Fnb GO (handheld or mobile devices used by staff for tableside ordering or queue busting).
- It might be similar to the POS menu but may be adjusted for mobile efficiency (e.g., simplified menu compared to POS for quick order-taking).
- Example: Waiter uses an Fnb GO at the table to take orders directly, the cashier directly uses the Fnb GO to create orders and make payments.
XilnexKiosk
- Order source used for XilnexLiveKiosk, which serves as self-ordering kiosks
- Menus are used for XilnexLiveKiosk, where customers browse and place orders independently.
- Usually optimized for visual appeal and guided ordering (e.g., combos, modifiers, and images for upselling).
- Example: Fast-food chains showing combo meals or limited options and place a higher placing position on kiosks for faster decision-making.
XilnexTablet
- Order source used for third party platforms which provide tablet devices.

- Menus assigned to XilnexLiveOrder are displayed with the business custom domain URL to serve as an online order platform.
- Menus assigned to XilnexAppSales are displayed with the embedded order platform in mobile apps.
- These menus may be different from the in-store POS menu, often simplified for faster browsing and skip unnecessary items such as Voucher/Service/Discount items.
- Example: An outlet may offer a different menu online for Delivery and PickUp sales (e.g: excluding dine-in-only items).
XilnexByodOrders
- Order source XilnexByodOrders is used for the In-Store order platform with payment at counter option.
- Menu assigned with XilnexByodOrders normally will use the similar menu setup with the menu in the outlet.
- The menu for XilnexByodOrders might contain only dine-in-only items in the outlet.
- Example: The outlet may offer a QR to place order based on the Dine In menu in the outlet.
XilnexLiveSales (Foodpanda, Grabfood, DeliverEat)
- The order source XilnexLiveSales normally serves the Food Aggregator integration platform / other third party integrated order platform.
- Menus assigned to XilnexLiveSales are synchronized with third-party platforms (e.g., GrabFood, Foodpanda, Shopee Food, etc).
- Allows businesses to tailor menus specifically for aggregator sales, including combo meals that appeal to online customers and are able to exclude certain items not available on an online order platform.
- Example: A Combo Meal may only be available through Food Aggregators but not on in-store POS.
