Membership is the foundation of the Xilnex Loyalty System. Every registered customer is identified by a unique client ID; a single identifier that unifies their purchase history, loyalty points, and account information across all channels, whether in-store or via the app.
How Membership Works
When a customer registers on the Xilnex Loyalty App, they become a member of the loyalty programme. Their unique client ID is the central record that links all their activity — every purchase, every point earned, and every reward redeemed regardless of which outlet they visit or how they transact.
Businesses can define membership tiers to segment customers based on their engagement level and spending behaviour, allowing for differentiated rewards and personalised experiences at each tier.
Member Type Setup
Businesses can configure custom membership tiers to reflect their brand strategy and customer lifecycle. Each tier is independently configurable with its own:
Example: A member must accumulate 1,000 Lifetime Points within a 12-month period to qualify for — and maintain — Gold tier status.
Member Points
Loyalty points are tracked under each member's unique client ID — not the X-Card. They reflect a member's cumulative engagement and spending activity across all participating outlets.
The system supports two distinct point types:
| Point Type | How It Works | Can Be Spent? | Can Be Transferred? |
|---|
| Spendable Points | Earned from qualifying purchases. Can be redeemed for rewards or vouchers via Xilnex POS or app integrations. | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Lifetime Points | Accumulates the total points earned over time. Used to determine tier upgrades or downgrades. Expiry and evaluation rules are customisable. | ❌ No | ❌ No
|
Important: Lifetime Points and Spendable Points are tracked separately. Redeeming Spendable Points does not reduce a member's Lifetime Points balance. Tier status is evaluated based on Lifetime Points only.
Tier Evaluation Logic
A member's tier status is reviewed at the end of each validity period. The evaluation checks whether the member has accumulated the required Lifetime Points threshold for their current or next tier.
- If the threshold is met — the member retains or upgrades to the corresponding tier.
- If the threshold is not met — the member may be downgraded to the appropriate tier based on their actual Lifetime Points balance.
Expiry rules and evaluation periods for Lifetime Points are fully configurable by the business via the Xilnex Portal.
Example
Tier | Required Lifetime Points | Tier Duration |
Normal | 0–49 pts | - |
Silver | 50 pts | 1 Year |
Gold | 200 pts | 1 Year |
